The 3rd Annual Back to the 80s Run/Walk is a nostalgic themed event taking place at Campion Trail in Irving, Texas. Participants are encouraged to wear 1980s attire such as neon colors, leg warmers, and bright clothing. The event includes a live DJ playing period music and a post-race party.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 5 km (3.1 miles)
- 10 km (6.1 miles)
- Virtual Race
The course is an out-and-back trail located at 5950 Riverside Drive. The races are chip-timed, meaning individual times start when crossing the timing mat. Faster participants are requested to line up at the front of the field, while those with strollers or those walking are asked to line up at the back. Portable toilets are available at the start and finish line, with additional restrooms located along the course.
Awards are presented to the overall top male and female finishers. Division awards are also given for first, second, and third place across age groups ranging from 10-19 to 80 and over. Free parking is available for all attendees. The event operates under a strict no-refund policy and takes place regardless of rain or cold temperatures, though extreme weather may result in course modifications or cancellation at the discretion of the organizers.
