Event
The Back to the 80s 5K & 10K takes place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Campion Trail, 5950 Riverside Dr, Irving, TX 75039. This is the third annual edition and offers three distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 15K
The event includes a live DJ playing 1980s music and a post-race party. The theme encourages retro 1980s attire and a festive atmosphere.
Logistics and awards
The course is an out-and-back on Campion Trail. There will be a Portal Pot at the start/finish area and additional restrooms along the course. Parking is free. The event uses chip timing; official time is recorded when a participant crosses the starting mat. Pre-packet pickup is listed as TBD, and participants may pick up up to five packets for friends or family. T-shirt cutoff is August 29, 2025; entries missing that cutoff will not receive a shirt during race day packet pickup.
Awards include 1st place male and female, 1st through 3rd place division awards, and age-division awards for 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Virtual entries ship packets within roughly 1-2 weeks after the event and are available to the United States mainland only. The event has a no-refund policy; in extreme weather the course may be shortened, altered, or the event canceled at the race director's discretion.
