About the race
Back the Blue is a community running event in Gilroy, California on November 7, 2026 at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Side). The event includes multiple race categories and activities intended to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.

The course begins at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Side) and follows the Uvas Creek Levee Trail. The route is mainly flat and paved with visibly marked turnaround points and a scenic trail setting.
Registration details and fees vary by category. Registration opens July 24, 2026 for the runs, while the 5K Ruck opens registration on August 8, 2026. Final registration closes October 2, 2026. Early registration ends August 31, 2026 with a price increase afterward. Registration deadline for T shirts is September 25, 2026. Fees listed by category include a $40 entry for the 1 Mile Fun Run and $50 for each of the 5K run, 10K run, and 5K ruck.
Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the parking lot north of the Gilroy Police Department and at race day check in at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Side). Participants may collect packets for other registered runners with approval and verification.
Event features include first responder displays, vendor booths, finisher medals, and a family oriented atmosphere. Strollers are allowed with a request to start toward the back. No pets are allowed. Sponsorship tiers are offered with deadlines for branded placement on shirts and medals in early September and later September for other sponsor categories.
