Event
The Baby Steps 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Stars and Stripes Park, Lake Hefner in Oklahoma City. The event includes the following races:
- 5k Run
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Virtual 5k
Entry fees listed for the in-person events are $40 for the 5k and $30 for the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. The Virtual 5k fee is listed as $45. The virtual option includes logging a finish time, downloading a personalized finisher certificate, and viewing a leaderboard. The virtual option also carries an additional $5 charge to cover shirt shipping.
Logistics and organizer
The race is organized by the Infant Crisis Services Teen Associate Board and benefits Infant Crisis Services, a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1984. Infant Crisis Services provides food, formula, and diapers for infants and toddlers across 29 counties in central and southern Oklahoma. The Teen Associate Board is composed of local high school students.
Packet pickup is scheduled on the Friday before the race at Infant Crisis Services and also begins on race day at Stars and Stripes Park. The event will proceed rain or shine, but may be cancelled in cases of lightning or severe weather; if the event is cancelled for weather, registrations are treated as donations and no refunds or alternate date will be offered.
