Baby Steps 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run - Oklahoma City
The Baby Steps 5k and One Mile Fun Run is a fundraising event organized by the Infant Crisis Services Teen Associate Board. The event benefits Infant Crisis Services, a 501(c)(3) organization established in 1984 that provides food, formula, and diapers for infants and toddlers across 29 counties in central and southern Oklahoma. The Teen Associate Board is composed of Oklahoma City-area high school students in grades 9-12.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5k Run
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- Virtual 5k
The race takes place at Stars and Stripes Park, Lake Hefner, Oklahoma City (3701 S Lake Hefner Dr, OK 73116). Packet pickup is available the day before at Infant Crisis Services and on race day at Stars and Stripes Park. The last day the organizers can guarantee a shirt with registration is Friday, March 27.
The event is scheduled to run rain or shine. If lightning or other severe weather occurs, organizers may cancel the event at their discretion. There is no alternate date or refunds; registrations will be considered a donation if the event is cancelled due to weather.
The virtual 5k can be completed anytime and anywhere. Virtual participants can log a finish time, download a personalized finisher certificate, view a leaderboard, and pay an additional $5 to cover t-shirt shipping. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
