Event Details

The B-Town Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving morning run/walk event in Bloomington, Indiana, on November 26, 2026. The 5K course follows the B-Line Trail through Switchyard Park, starting and finishing at the park's Main Pavilion. The route is marked with signs and has volunteer support, and there are no street crossings. Strollers are welcome.

Registration and Inclusions

Registration is priced between $25 and $40, with an early price of $30 valid until November 22, 2026. Registration for children aged 0-9 is free, but they do not receive a race shirt. A long-sleeve race t-shirt is guaranteed for all paid participants who register by November 13, 2026. Additional shirts can be purchased separately by that date. Race registration fees cover event costs, including timing by ABTiming, a DJ, photographer, snacks, law enforcement presence, and race bibs.

Pre-Race and Race Day

Pre-race packet pickup is offered at The Warehouse (1525 S. Rogers St.) on November 25, 2026, from 9-11 AM and 4-6 PM. For those registering after 6 PM on November 25, bib pickup is available on race day between 7:00-7:30 AM at Switchyard Park. Race day activities at Switchyard Park include parking and registration opening at 7:00 AM, music and warm-up at 8:00 AM, and the race start at 8:30 AM. Awards are presented at the DJ booth at 9:15 AM.

Awards

Age group awards are based on clock time. Participants wanting to compete for these awards are advised to position themselves toward the front at the start. Age groups are categorized in five-year increments from 0-9 up to 65-69, with a 70+ category, and are separate for male and female participants.
