Brown County Hilly Half
The Brown County Hilly Half is a fundraising running event held on November 21, 2026. The event aims to highlight Brown County, promote health and well-being, and create a sense of community. This is the eleventh running of the Hilly Half.

- 10K
- 5K
The half marathon route starts and finishes at the Saddle Barn / Lower Shelter House and winds through Brown County State Park. The course climbs for the first two miles, then follows a ridge top with scenic vistas and passes the park fire tower. The final section includes a two mile downhill finish.
A post-race party follows the event and features music, hot soup and breadsticks, beer, fires and fellowship. Soup is provided by Abe Martin Lodge and Rafters. The post-race party sponsor is Quaff ON! Brewing Co.
Logistics noted by the organizer include early packet pick-up on the Friday before the race at the Brown County YMCA, and race day packet pick-up at the Lower Shelter House. The event uses chip timing that ends at 1:00 pm. The event is a fundraiser and there are no refunds or deferrals. Per insurance requirements, dogs are not allowed on the course.
