About the Event
The Aztec Run for Education is a 5K run and walk event. It takes place at Lake Merritt in Oakland, California. The event is hosted by the Spanish Speaking Citizens' Foundation.
Registration Details
Registration is open for an in-person event, which includes a t-shirt. There is also a virtual participation option where participants can post their time via a mobile app.
Fees vary by age category and include early bird discounts:
- Child (13 & Under): $10.
- Youth (14-24): $25 through March 31, $30 thereafter.
- Adult (25-64): $50 through March 31, $55 thereafter.
- Senior (65+): $35 through March 31, $40 thereafter.
Registration for groups of five or more receives a 10% discount per registration for youth, adult, and senior categories. Registration can be completed online or in-person at the Spanish Speaking Citizens’ Foundation office on Fruitvale Avenue.
Race Day Information
On the day of the event, check-in and race-day registration open at 7:00 AM. The run starts at 9:00 AM. The start and finish area is at Lake Merritt.
Course and Awards
The course goes around Lake Merritt. The route is described as wheelchair-friendly. Awards are given to the top overall male and female finishers, top masters finishers, and the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups.
