Awareness for Dementia 3K
The inaugural Awareness for Dementia 3K Run/Walk takes place at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center in Louisville, Kentucky. This event is hosted by the Alma Roberta Elliott Awareness for Dementia Foundation with the objective of providing education and community support for caregivers while raising awareness about dementia.
Participants have the option to run or walk on the Humana Outdoor Track. The course for this event consists of 8 laps around the track. While the event is named a 3K, the total distance for completing all eight laps is 3200 meters (2 miles). Participants who complete the full distance are eligible for awards, although there is no requirement to finish all laps to participate in the activity.
In addition to the run and walk, the event features a Community Fair. This area includes vendor booths from non-profit organizations, small businesses, and corporate partners. The fair provides a space for families and supporters to gather and access informational resources. All registered participants receive a commemorative race shirt as part of their registration fee. The venue is located at 3029 West Muhammad Ali Boulevard. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
