2026 Austin Sunshine Run
The Austin Sunshine Run takes place on May 3, 2026 at Vic Mathias Shores at Lady Bird Lake Metro Park, 900 W Riverside Dr, Austin, TX. The event features certified 5K and 10K courses that run along W Cesar Chavez Street parallel to Lady Bird Lake.
Race options include timed road distances, a dog friendly 5K entry called Tomlinson's Fastest Dog in Austin, a Kids K, and virtual 5K and 10K options for remote participants. Runners who plan to run with a dog are asked to register for the Fastest Dog in Austin 5K so organizers can track pet participation and provide related perks.
Proceeds and funds raised from the event benefit historically underinvested youth of Central Texas through the Austin Sunshine Camps. Campers receive a free ten day, nine night summer camp experience at the organization’s Zilker Park and Lake Travis facilities. The event is presented as a community fundraiser with both in person and virtual participation choices.
