Austin CapTex Triathlon - May 25, 2026
The Austin CapTex Triathlon is a multisport event in Austin, Texas that combines open-water swimming, road cycling, and a road run. The event route passes through central Austin and includes urban and park settings.
The swim takes place in Lady Bird Lake. The bike course moves into downtown Austin with the Texas Capitol visible along parts of the route. The run goes through Butler Park and finishes near Auditorium Shores, where a Finish Line Festival is held for athletes and spectators, featuring snacks, drinks, and live music.
Multiple race distances are offered:
- SuperSprint: 400 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 19.8 km bike, 5 km run
- Olympic: 1500 m swim, 39 km bike, 10 km run
The event includes individual and relay entries and is open to athletes ages 14 and up. Paratriathlon awards are available for the sprint distance only. Age-group divisions are offered for men and women, ranging from 19 & Under through 85+.
Participants receive event timing, a finisher medal, and a T-shirt. An expo is part of race weekend. Course routes are subject to change. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
