Aurora Health Care Two Rivers 10-Mile and associated races
The event includes a 10 mile run, a three person relay, a 2 mile run/walk, and a one third mile kids run. The 10 mile course is USATF certified, described as flat, fast, and scenic. The route begins in front of Two Rivers High School, follows paved streets around Point Beach State Forest, passes through Neshotah Park, and runs along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Post race refreshments are served in the Two Rivers High School cafetorium and include chili, Subway sandwiches, bagels, fruit, cookies, water, and sports drink. Chip timing is used and music is provided at the event. Gender specific technical shirts are guaranteed for participants who pre-register.
Awards are distributed across the races: trophies to 10 mile overall and age group winners with medals for second and third, finisher medals to all 10 mile finishers, medals for relay winners, trophies and medals for 2 mile winners, and ribbons for 2 mile finishers age 14 and under.
All proceeds from the event are donated to the Two Rivers High School Athletic and Band Booster Organizations. The event’s stated aims include providing a venue for all ages and ability levels and promoting health and fitness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
