Maritime Marathon
The Maritime Marathon returns to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, for its 14th edition. This community-based event is planned by volunteers and takes place along the Lake Michigan shoreline, known as the Maritime Capital of Wisconsin. The course follows an out-and-back route from Manitowoc to Two Rivers and back.
The event features a flat and fast course that serves as a Boston Qualifier. Participants can choose from several different distances and formats:
- Marathon: A 26.2 mile individual race.
- Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile individual race.
- Marathon Relay: A 26.2 mile race completed by a 4 person relay team.
- Maritime Nautical Run: A 5.75 mile race (equivalent to 5 nautical miles) using the same start and finish locations.
- Virtual Options: Remote participation for the 26.2 mile and 13.1 mile distances.
Proceeds from the event benefit local non-profit organizations. Since the event's inception, over $250,000 has been raised and donated to local charities within the Manitowoc and Two Rivers community. The race is organized with an emphasis on local community impact and provides views of the lakeshore throughout the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
