Event overview
ATW Welwyn Half Marathon & 10k takes place on 4 October 2026 at Gosling Sports Park, Stanborough Road, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. The event is organised by Active Training World and is scheduled for autumn. Entry fees are listed between £23 and £33. The event is licensed by UK Athletics and chip-timed by Event Chip Timing. A three-hour cut-off applies, after which marshals and signage will no longer be available.
Course and race features
Both races start and finish on the 400 m athletics track at Gosling Sports Park. Distances on offer include:
- 10 km
- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
The half marathon leaves the stadium, runs through the outskirts of Welwyn, joins the Cole Green Way (a disused railway line and traffic-free path), completes a short loop, returns along the Cole Green Way and finishes with a lap of the track. The multi-terrain 10k shares the opening 5 km with the half marathon, then follows a separate loop before returning to the stadium.
Fifteen minutes before the main event there is a free 400 m fun run for children; no advance booking is required and parents may join. The day includes a warm-up led by personal trainers, a professional commentator at the finish, food and drink from caterers, custom-designed medals, free professional race photos, and finish-line snacks. The event offers opportunities to donate or fundraise for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Transfers to future ATW events are allowed up to 48 hours before the event; refunds and transfers to another person are not offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
