Event overview
The ATW Welwyn event at Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City offers a half marathon and a 10k, plus a short children’s fun run. The course starts and finishes on the 400 m athletics track. The half marathon goes out of the stadium, follows routes through the outskirts of Welwyn and onto the Cole Green Way, then returns to finish with a lap of the track. The 10k shares the same opening 5 km as the half marathon, then follows a separate loop back to the stadium.

The event is fully licensed by UK Athletics and is chip-timed by Event Chip Timing. A three-hour cut-off applies, after which marshals and signage will no longer be available. Children can register on the day for the free 400 m fun run; parents may join their children. The day includes a warm-up led by personal trainers and a finish-line commentator. Finishers receive a custom medal, free professional race photos, and post-race snacks. Limited paid parking is available at the venue, with additional parking in Welwyn town centre. The organiser, ATW, was established in 2011 and runs national multi-sport events. Transfers to future ATW events are permitted up to 48 hours before the event; refunds and transfers to another person are not offered. The event partners with Alzheimer’s Research UK for fundraising.
