Cate's Run

Cate's Run is a memorial 10K run and walk taking place on Sunday 9 August 2026 at The Chauncy School in Ware, Hertfordshire. The event is open to participants aged 16 and over, with a maximum of 250 entrants and an entry fee set at £22. Entries close on 6 August 2026; there are no on-the-day entries, no refunds or deferrals, and transfers are closed.

The 10K course is made up of two 5 km loops on mostly flat, multi-terrain paths with a couple of inclines and one stile. The route includes a stretch along the River Lea, is fully signed and marshalled, and uses public tow paths with permission from the Canal and Rivers Trust. The event is fully timed; participants are asked to complete the course within 2 hours 30 minutes. A mass start will be organised with runners grouped by predicted finish time to reduce congestion.

All profits from the event go directly to PAPYRUS UK to raise funds and awareness for preventing young suicide. Every participant receives a PAPYRUS wristband and information, and every finisher receives a full-colour Cate's Run medal.

Event facilities include water at the halfway point and at the start/finish, qualified first aiders at Race HQ, toilets, changing rooms and hot showers at the event HQ, informal bag storage, bib collection on the day, and post-race refreshments with donations to PAPYRUS appreciated. On-site parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
