Cate's Run
Cate's Run is a timed 10K run and walk taking place on Sunday 09 August 2026, with start and finish at The Chauncy School in Ware, Hertfordshire (SG12 0DP). The route is mostly flat with a couple of inclines and comprises two 5 km loops. A riverside stretch along the River Lea is included and the course crosses one stile. The route is fully signed and marshalled and access to the tow path is provided with permission from the Canal and Rivers Trust.
The event is held in memory of the event namesake and raises funds for PAPYRUS UK; all profits go directly to the charity and participants receive a PAPYRUS wristband and information. Every finisher will receive a full‑colour event medal. The organisers ask participants to complete the course within 2 hours 30 minutes. Entry is open to people aged 16 and over, with a maximum of 250 entrants; entries close on 03 August 2026 and there are no on‑the‑day entries, refunds, or deferrals.
Race day facilities include water at the halfway point and at the start and finish, qualified first aid at Race HQ, toilets, changing rooms, and hot showers at the event HQ, informal bag storage, and post‑race refreshments with donations welcomed. Race numbers are available for collection on the day. Limited on‑site parking is available on a first‑come, first‑served basis; additional on‑street parking can be found nearby. For safety and site rules, only bone conduction headphones are permitted, dogs are not allowed on site or the course, and smoking is prohibited on the school site.
