Cate's Run : 10K in the Hertfordshire countryside
Cate's Run is a scenic, mostly flat 10K run and walk taking place on Sunday 9 August 2026. The route comprises two 5 km loops with a stretch along the River Lea, one stile to cross, and a couple of short inclines. The course is fully signed and marshalled.
The event is open to runners and walkers aged 16 and over, with a maximum of 250 entrants. It uses a mass start, with participants grouped by predicted finish time to reduce congestion, and participants are asked to complete the course within 2 hours 30 minutes. The event will be fully timed.
All profits from the event go to PAPYRUS UK, a charity working to prevent young suicide. Every participant receives a PAPYRUS wristband and information about how contributions support the charity. Every finisher receives a full-colour Cate's Run medal.
Race day provisions include water at the halfway point and at the start/finish, qualified first aiders at Race HQ, toilets, changing rooms, and hot showers at the event HQ, informal bag storage, and on-the-day bib collection at registration. On-site parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bone conduction headphones only are allowed; dogs and smoking are not permitted on the school site.
