Cate's Run
Cate's Run takes place on Sunday 09 August 2026 at The Chauncy School in Ware, Hertfordshire. It is a scenic, mostly flat 10K run and walk on public footpaths with two loops of 5 km each. The route includes a stretch along the River Lea, one stile, and a couple of short inclines. The course is fully signed and marshalled, and access to the tow path is provided by Canal and Rivers Trust.
The event is held in memory of a local young woman and raises funds for PAPYRUS UK. All profits go directly to the charity and participants receive a PAPYRUS wristband and information about the cause. Last year the event raised over £5000, which helped keep the PAPYRUS HOPELINE247 service open for a week.
Practical arrangements include water at the halfway point and at the start and finish, qualified first aiders at Race HQ, toilets, changing rooms, and hot showers at the event HQ, and informal bag storage. Every finisher receives a full colour Cate's Run medal. Bib numbers are collected at registration on race day.
Entry is open to people aged 16 and over, with a maximum of 250 entrants. Entries close on 03/08/2026. There are no on the day entries, and the organiser’s policy states no refunds or deferrals. Bone conduction headphones only are permitted. Dogs and smoking are not allowed on the school site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
