ATW Colchester Friday Night Runs

ATW Colchester Friday Night Runs is an evening event at Colchester Sports Park featuring a 1 mile fun run and multiple 5 km road races, including the Essex County 5k Championships. The course is a closed road circuit on smooth tarmac, run anticlockwise with no sharp bends and a finish on the main straight. Each course is officially measured under a UK Athletics licence, and 5 km races are chip timed with results published on Power of 10.

The programme includes staged 5 km races and a finale of Comms Express elite women’s and men’s races with an equal prize list. Complimentary elite entries are offered to athletes who meet specified recent time standards, with evidence required on Power of 10. The Essex County 5k Championship results are produced by merging chip timed results across the 5 km races and include categories such as Open, V40 through V70+ and Teams.

Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult who holds their own ticket. To qualify for the Essex County Championships athletes must be born in Essex or have lived there for the last nine months, be over 18 years old, not have represented another county in the current race year, represent their first claim club in the official club vest, and enter a valid UKA number and club name when booking.
