Event overview
ATW Colchester Friday Night Runs is an evening running meeting at Colchester Sports Park, Cuckoo Farm Way, Colchester, CO4 5YX. Course and racing format
The course is a traffic-free, closed-road circuit on smooth tarmac. It runs anticlockwise, has no sharp bends, and finishes at the end of the main straight. The event uses chip timing and merges 5 km results to produce championship standings.
Essex County Championships and elite races
The Essex County 5k results are compiled into male and female categories: Open, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65, V70+ and Teams. To qualify for the Essex Championships entrants must meet residency or birth criteria and other eligibility rules, and must enter a valid UKA number and club at booking. The event also stages Radley Elite races for women and men with specified qualifying times. Complimentary elite entries are available to athletes who have recorded designated recent times as evidenced on Power of 10.
Logistics and age rules
Free parking is available at the venue; attendees sign in using iPads in the cafe. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult with their own ticket for any distance.
