Atlanta Mission 5K Race to End Homelessness

The Atlanta Mission 5K is a fundraising road race with both in-person and virtual options held in Atlanta. The event uses the entry fee to provide shelter and services: each registration covers one night of shelter and services for someone who would otherwise sleep outdoors.

The in-person course starts at Pemberton Place Greenspace and is USATF certified (GA17079WC). It is also listed as one of the last qualifiers before registration opens for the AJC Peachtree Road Race. The race offers a 5K distance for participants.

Organized by Atlanta Mission, the event supports the organization’s shelter and recovery work. Atlanta Mission operates four shelter campuses in Metro Atlanta and Northeast Georgia and provides safe shelter, warm meals, trauma-informed mental health care, vocational training, and spiritual support. The race includes a Miles for Hope fundraising challenge that offers an exclusive sweatshirt to participants who meet fundraising or monthly giving thresholds; qualifying criteria include raising $500 via an individual fundraising page or committing to monthly giving as a Restoration Partner.

Sponsors and volunteer groups support the event. The race materials and fundraising structure emphasize extending shelter services and related programs to people experiencing homelessness in the Atlanta area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
