AthHalf Half Marathon and AthFest Educates 5K
The event features in-person and virtual running options held in Athens, Georgia. The in-person routes include a half marathon that runs through historic districts, downtown, and the University of Georgia campus, and a 5K that explores downtown and the Boulevard neighborhood. Local Athens bands perform live on the half marathon course, and a live band appears at the 5K start and finish. Residents provide crowd support along the routes.
The series is produced annually by the nonprofit organization AthFest Educates. Race proceeds support funding for music and arts education programming for local K–12 youth. A virtual half marathon option allows participants to run the 13.1 miles anywhere and submit a finish time on the results page. T-shirt and medal mailing is available for a $15.00 fee, and a no shirt no medal option is offered. Listed registration fees are $35.00 for the 5K, $65.00 for the in-person half marathon, and $50.00 for the virtual half marathon.
