AthHalf Half Marathon and AthFest Educates 5K
The event takes place in Athens, Georgia, with a base at Washington and Lumpkin Street. It features in-person and virtual options across multiple distances and is produced annually by the nonprofit organization AthFest Educates.
Available distances:
- 5K exploring downtown and the Boulevard neighborhood
- 13.1 Miles AthHalf Half Marathon through historic districts and the UGA campus
- 13.1 Miles Virtual AthHalf run anywhere and submit a finish time
The half marathon course goes through Athens’ historic districts, downtown, and the UGA campus. Local Athens bands perform live along the half marathon course. The 5K course explores downtown and the Boulevard neighborhood and includes a live band at the start and finish.
The virtual option allows participants to run the half marathon distance anywhere and submit a finish time on the results page. A T-shirt and medal can be mailed for a $15.00 mailing fee, and a no shirt no medal option is available. Registration fees listed by the organizer are $35.00 for the 5K, $65.00 for the in-person half marathon, and $50.00 for the virtual half marathon.
