AthHalf Half Marathon and AthFest Educates 5K
The event takes place in Athens, Georgia. It includes a half marathon and a 5K race. There is also a virtual option for the half marathon distance.
The half marathon course passes through Athens' historic districts, downtown area, and the University of Georgia campus. Local bands perform live music along the route. The 5K course runs through downtown Athens and the Boulevard neighborhood, with a live band at the start and finish line. Local residents often come out to cheer for the participants.
The event is organized by the nonprofit AthFest Educates. Proceeds from the race fund music and arts education programs for local K-12 students.
