OhioHealth Race For A Reason
The Ohio University Sports Administration hosts the 14th annual Race For A Reason at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. The event takes place over two days, April 24 and 25, 2026, and features a variety of activities with a focus on community fundraising. Over the past 13 years, the event has raised over $650,000 for charities, non-profits, and student organizations.
The event consists of several distinct activities. The Family Fun Glow Run is a non-competitive evening run where participants are encouraged to wear glow gear or costumes. The Athens Has Heart Tricycle Race is a team fundraiser with proceeds supporting the placement of cardiac defibrillators in local schools and youth programs. The Saturday events include a chip-timed 5K run, a 3K walk, and an OU ROTC Mud Run which has both individual and five-person team options. A virtual race option is also available.
Participants can form teams for certain events. Course maps are available for the 5K, 3K walk, and Mud Run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
