Ashford Striders Charing 10k
The event is an evening race held in the village of Charing, Kent, with a main 10 km race and a separate Junior Run (not chip timed). The route uses tarmac, quiet country lanes and a short trail section, and is described as undulating with one notable climb roughly after halfway. The course passes towards Eastwell and includes a stretch along the Pilgrims Way. There is no cut off time.
The race has a community focus with marshals and local support positioned along the route. Included for participants are a bespoke medal and trophies and prizes for leading runners. Event information is sent to registered entrants before race day.
On-the-day entry (subject to availability) is listed as: 10k £30 and Junior Run £6. Parking is not available on Charing Playing Fields and parking on The Moat is not allowed. Parking has been arranged in a nearby field and will incur a £1 entry fee; participants are asked to follow signs, marshal instructions and to observe village parking restrictions. Charing train station is around half a mile from the playing fields and local bus services are available.
