Event overview
The Asheville Marathon and Half takes place on March 21, 2026, at Pack Square Park / Court Plaza in Asheville, North Carolina. The event is presented by New Belgium and is the first race in the Appalachian Trilogy series. It offers in-person and virtual options for both distances and includes a packet pickup and race expo the day before at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Asheville - Biltmore Village.

Course, certification and race services
The course passes through historic neighborhoods, downtown streets, the River Arts District, and miles along the French Broad River Greenway. The half marathon is USATF certified. The marathon will be recertified and sanctioned as a Boston-qualifying event prior to race day. Courses are fully marked, professionally chip timed with live results, and described as spectator friendly.
Race entries include a complimentary dri-fit event shirt (unisex and women’s sizes) while sizes are available; shirts are guaranteed with registration through February 8, 2026, and may be available in limited quantities after that date. Participants receive a commemorative finisher medal, a goody bag, complimentary race photos, and a complimentary post-race beer from New Belgium Brewing for those 21 and older. A paid shipping option is available to have shirt and bib mailed in advance. The event lists multiple sponsors and partners and shows a fundraising effort for United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County with $1,240.66 raised toward a $10,000 goal.
