Asheville Marathon and Half
The New Belgium Asheville Marathon & Half takes place on March 20, 2027 in Asheville, North Carolina, with the start and finish located at Pack Square Park / Court Plaza. The event offers in-person and virtual options for both race distances.
The courses run through downtown Asheville and nearby areas, including historic neighborhoods, the River Arts District, greenways, and sections along the French Broad River. Both the half marathon and the marathon are USATF certified (Half: NC26001DF, Marathon: NC26002DF) and the marathon is a Boston-qualifying course. The event is USATF sanctioned.
Included with entry are a dri-fit event shirt, a commemorative finisher medal, a goody bag, chip timing with live results, course markings, spectator-friendly routes, complimentary race photos, a shuttle service from the finish back to the start near the host hotel (stated $20 value), a post-race beer from New Belgium for those 21 and older, and locally made awards. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in each race; amounts are listed for first through third places for both marathon and half marathon. Winners must be present at the awards ceremony to accept cash prizes.
Packet pickup and the race expo take place at Embassy Suites by Hilton Asheville Downtown. A pre-event shipping option for shirt and bib is available for a fee and packets typically ship about 1.5 to 2 weeks before race day. Registration policies include options to transfer to the virtual event, request a deferral up to 15 days before race day, or change race distance. Transfers between participants are prohibited and registrations are non-refundable. The organizer may modify or convert the event if necessary.
