Asheville Independence Day 5k : Pack Square Park, Asheville NC
The Asheville Independence Day 5k is a community 5 kilometer run/walk held on July 4, 2026 at Pack Square Park, Court Plaza, Asheville, NC. The event offers race shirts and a finisher medal as part of the registration. The 2026 finisher medals are reclaimed wooden medals.
The event supports the local nonprofit Food Connection; five dollars from each race entry will be donated to their work. Awards include top overall prizes with Goodr sunglasses and a Mast General Store gift certificate for Top 3 Male, Female and Non-Binary finishers, as well as masters and grand masters categories. Custom age group awards are given to the top three Male, Female and Non-Binary finishers across standard age brackets. A Middle of the Pack award includes a $10 gift certificate to KickItRunning.com.
Strollers are permitted on the 5k course and dogs are not allowed. Registration fees vary by date and the current summer registration price includes a t-shirt and finisher medal. The event has a no refund policy and does not allow deferrals; transfers to a virtual entry or to another runner or distance are permitted up to five days before the event.
