Asheville Independence Day 5k
The Asheville Independence Day 5k is a community 5K run/walk held on July 4, 2026 in Pack Square Park, Court Plaza, Asheville, NC (80 Court Plaza, 28801). The event offers packet pick up the day before at The Mule (131 Sweeten Creek Rd Ste 10) and race-day packet pick up in Pack Square Park.
Registration includes a T-shirt and a finisher medal. Pricing is offered in tiered periods (Early Early Bird, Early Bird, Summer) and group pricing is available: registering four or more people qualifies for a 15% discount. Strollers are permitted on the course; dogs are not allowed.
The event supports Food Connection; five dollars from each race entry will be donated to that organization. There is a no-refund policy for the race. An enhanced refund protection program is available for purchase through Race Roster as a separate service, but Kick It Events does not guarantee refunds through that program. Transfers to a virtual entry, to another runner, or to a different distance are allowed up to five days before the event; transfers after that cutoff require contact with the race organizer.
Awards include a finisher medal for each participant and reclaimed wooden medals for 2026. Top finishers in male, female, and non-binary categories receive a pair of Goodr sunglasses, with additional awards for Masters and Grand Masters.
