Asheville Independence Day 5K
The Asheville Independence Day 5K is a community running event held in downtown Asheville on July 4, 2027. The in-person course begins and ends at Pack Square and runs through city streets near 80 Court Plaza, Asheville NC 28801. The event offers two options: an in person 5K Run/Walk and a Virtual 5K.
The race is capped at 600 runners. Strollers are permitted but must start at the back of the pack. Walkers are asked to plan on finishing within one hour and 15 minutes. For safety and insurance compliance, animals are not allowed to run with participants; service animals may be allowed with prior approval and supporting documentation.
The event lists Food Connection as its nonprofit partner for the fourth year. Registration fees listed for the two options are forty five dollars for the in person 5K and fifty five dollars for the Virtual 5K. Group discounts are available: a 15 percent discount for groups of four or more who register together, and a 15 percent discount for children twelve and under.
