Arthur E. Schumacher Memorial 5K Race
The Arthur E. Schumacher Memorial 5K Race takes place in Downtown Valley City, Ohio during the Valley City Street Fair on Sunday, August 16, 2026. The event is organized by the Valley City Firefighters Association with community volunteers.

Proceeds from the event are set aside to support the Arthur E. Schumacher Scholarship Fund, established to help local firefighters further their education in fire and EMS. The race honors an assistant fire chief who lost his life during a water rescue on December 31, 1992 and recognizes his service to the community.
The course starts and ends with the firefighters and features 135 feet of elevation change. The route passes through Mill Stream Park and nearby residential neighborhoods.
