Cookie Run 5K
The Cookie Run 5K is a community fundraising event held at Avon Lake Library in Avon Lake, Ohio. The event includes a timed 5K and shorter runs and is organized by the Lorain County Medical Society Scholarship Foundation, a 501(c)(3). All event proceeds support the Lorain County Medical Scholarship Fund for residents pursuing pre-med, nursing, and allied health programs.

This is the fifth year the event is held. The race course is measured and results are chip timed. Awards are planned for the top male and female finishers. Participants receive a cookie made by Sugar Riot, along with water and post-race snacks. The park is dog-friendly. Registration is open to everyone and day-of registration is available, with cookies and giveaway items provided to day-of registrants while supplies last.
The scholarship program awards funds to Lorain County residents pursuing healthcare education across the state. In the prior year the foundation awarded over $30,000.
