Arnold Mills Road Race
The Arnold Mills Road Race is an annual Fourth of July event in Cumberland, Rhode Island, held for more than 50 years. The main event is a 4 mile road race run on a moderately challenging course through a rural community, held in conjunction with the town parade.
Historically the event has drawn an average of about 500 participants. For the current edition, organizers expect a larger field, with an estimated 800 to 1,000 entrants. Parking near the start and finish is limited; locations listed for parking include the Community School on Arnold Mills Road, Quaker Road, and the Bentley Field complex about a mile from the start area.
Registration fees vary by age and by date. Youth (age 18 and younger) are listed at $25 until May 31, $30 until July 3, and $35 on race day. Adults (age 19 and older) are listed at $30 until May 31, $35 until July 3, and $40 on race day. On-site registration is available on race day.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at The Lodge at Diamond Hill, and additional packet pickup and race day registration are organized at the Cumberland Fire Department near the start and finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
