Arnold Mills Road Race
The Arnold Mills Road Race is an annual Fourth of July event in Cumberland, Rhode Island, centered on a four-mile road race held in conjunction with the town parade. The course runs through a rural area and is described as moderately challenging. Historically the event draws about 500 participants.
The race distance is 4 miles. The course begins and ends near the Cumberland Fire Department - Station 5 at 50 Arnold Mills Drive, Cumberland, RI. Packet pickup is provided the day before the race at The Lodge at Diamond Hill and there is also packet pickup on race day for pre-registered participants. Parking is available at the Community School, 15 Arnold Mills Road, and on Quaker Road; parking is limited.
Online registration opens January 1. Entry fees follow a tiered schedule: youth (age 18 and younger) and adults (age 19 and older) pay lower rates through May 31, higher rates through July 3, and a race day rate. On-site registration is available on race day. The event is organized as a community July Fourth activity in Cumberland and takes place alongside the town parade.
