About the race

The Arlington EATS Turkey Trot is a community 5K run or walk held in Arlington to support Arlington EATS and its work to reduce food insecurity. The event takes place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Hill’s Hill Field behind Ed Burns Arena, 422 Summer Street, Arlington, MA. Entry fee is $35. The first 500 registrants receive a free T shirt.

The 5K run starts and finishes at Hill’s Hill Field and follows the Minuteman Bikeway east to Water Street, then a loop via Massachusetts Ave, Lowell St, and Mill Lane/Frazer Lane before returning on the Minuteman Bike Path. The walk uses the same start and finish; walkers proceed east on the Minuteman Bikeway, turn around at Water Street, and return to Hill’s Hill Field.

Bib pickup is available at Arlington EATS, 117 Broadway, on Friday November 6 and Saturday November 7, and on race morning at the Ed Burns Arena parking lot. There is no parking at the ice rink on race day; alternate parking areas include Reservoir Beach on Lowell Street and McClellan Field on Summer Street. There is no parking on the westbound side of Massachusetts Ave from Water Street to Lowell Street during the race.

The event runs rain or shine with no refunds. Pets are not permitted. Post race activities include music, refreshments, kid friendly activities, and an awards ceremony. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each gendered age category; age categories are 13 and under, 14 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.

Arlington EATS engages the community to eliminate food insecurity in Arlington. The organization has operated for more than 30 years, serves about 550 households each week, and provides more than 1 million pounds of food annually to roughly 3,500 neighbors.

Fundraising incentives include team prizes such as a pizza party at Arlington EATS and recognition at the medal ceremony, and a VIP behind the scenes experience for top youth fundraisers that includes a Market tour and a hands on service project.
