100-Mile Endurance Run in the Ouachita Mountains

The Arkansas Traveller 100 is an endurance event held in Perryville, Arkansas. As one of the oldest 100-mile races in the United States, it follows a course through the Ouachita Mountains. The route consists of an initial 17-mile loop followed by an 83-mile out-and-back section.

Participants encounter a variety of terrain including forest roads, jeep trails, and an 8-mile portion of the Ouachita Trail. The course features a cumulative elevation gain of 12,000 feet, characterized by runnable hills and scenic mountain views. The event is a qualifying race for the Western States Endurance Run for those who finish within the 30-hour time limit.

The event provides extensive support with 23 fully stocked aid stations positioned approximately every 5 miles. On-site medical services, including an EMT and Medical Director, are available to participants. Finishers receive a buckle, with specific designs for sub-24-hour finishers, those over 24 hours, and overall winners.

A post-race breakfast is provided on Sunday morning, prepared by the William’s Junction Volunteer Fire Department. Additional awards include wooden engraved plaques for overall winners, runners-up, masters, and age group categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
