Area 13.1 Half Marathon
The Area 13.1 Half Marathon is a night running event held in Roswell, Georgia. For the 2026 edition, the race features a new course starting and finishing at the Chattahoochee Nature Center due to construction at the traditional venue. The hardware and route are designed around an extraterrestrial theme, and the event is limited to 1,500 participants for the half marathon distance.
Available distances for the event include:
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 13.1 Miles (Virtual)
- 10K (Virtual)
- 3.1 Miles (Virtual 5K)
The in-person course consists of two loops along the river and boardwalks. It is a flat route with a total elevation gain of 240 feet. Because the race takes place in the evening, participants must use headlamps or running lights to navigate darker sections of the course. The event has a total time limit of 3 hours and 45 minutes, which requires a minimum pace of 17:00 minutes per mile.
Participants receive a themed medal and a tri-blend shirt. Finshers aged 21 and over are provided with a beer from Gate City Brewing Company. The event site includes a live DJ, food trucks, and various vendors. Please note that strollers and pets are not permitted on the race course.
