Area 13.1 Half Marathon
Area 13.1 Half Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Roswell, Georgia. The 2026 event is a night race that will start and finish at Chattahoochee Nature Center while Riverside Park is closed for renovations through July 2027. Organizers note a total elevation gain for the half marathon of 240 feet and describe the course as flat and fast.
The event supports the Roswell Police and the Friends of Roswell Police. Finishers receive an alien head medal and a tri-blend Area 13.1 shirt. Runners aged 21 and over receive a complimentary beer donated by Gate City Brewing Company. Event activities listed by the organizer include a live DJ, food trucks, and vendors.
Due to size constraints in 2026 the in-person program is limited to the half marathon with a cap of 1,500 half marathon runners. The 5K and 10K are not offered in person for 2026 and are planned to return in 2027 when Riverside Park reopens. Several virtual race options are listed alongside the in-person half marathon.
