About the race
ARC Irene Trail Run/Walk is a trail running and walking event at the Irene Athletics Club, inside the Agricultural Research Centre (ARC) Irene in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa.
Entry categories cover multiple distances, including:
- 21 km Trail
- 15 km Trail
- 10 km Trail
- 5 km Trail
- 3 km Trail (half trail, half road)
- Kids and pensioner options at 3 km, 5 km, 10 km, 15 km, and 21 km
Pre-entry online fees are listed per distance: 3 km (R80), 5 km (R110), 10 km (R130), 15 km (R150), 21 km (R170). On-the-day entries incur an additional R30, except for children under 13 and adults over 60 who pay R80 with no extra on-the-day charge. Race numbers are issued the morning of the event at registration; there is no need to collect race packs the day before.
Route and facilities information: all trail routes are full distance with no loops. A road option uses only roads within the ARC Irene grounds. Water tables will be available on all routes. Walking or hiking is permitted on the 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km routes. Amenities at the venue include a clubhouse with coffee, drinks and snacks, venue entry and parking. Entry includes a marked route, water tables, a finisher medal, venue entry and Vitality points. Pets are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
