Event overview
Blackout Night Runs takes place Friday, June 19, 2026, at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, AZ. The event offers three distances:
- 27K : two full loops
- 13K : one loop
- 6K : shortened Soldiers Trail loop
The trails run through ponderosa pines at about 7,000 ft and include narrow single track and wider forest paths. The 27K is listed as 16.8 miles with 1,293 ft total elevation gain and a max elevation of 7,137 ft. The 13K is 8.56 miles with 648 ft gain. The 6K is 4.12 miles with 287 ft gain. The course is a multi-loop layout and is marked with orange plastic ribbons and colored signs; blue and white checkerboard flagging marks wrong-way trails. The overall cutoff for all races is midnight.
Course support, camping, and race services
Aid stations provide water, an electrolyte drink (Gnarly Fuel-2O), sweet and salty snacks, and fruit; for the 27K aid stations occur roughly every 4.0 to 4.4 miles. Crews are allowed at the start/finish area only. Drop bags are permitted at the start/finish and available on each loop. Pacers are not allowed. The organizer offers a limited tent-only group camping permit near the start/finish, with pre-setup tent and cot rental options. Parking is at the North Parking Lot near the Flagstaff Extreme Adventure Course. Race perks listed include a branded goodie, finish line photo, chip-timed results, iced coffee bar, well-stocked aid station, and a custom finisher medal.
