Ararat River Run 10K
The Ararat River Run 10K is part of the Downtown Rocks and Runs event in Mount Airy, NC on August 15, 2026. The event returns to downtown Mount Airy and uses the Mount Airy Municipal Building for packet pickup and race-day services.

The 5K and 10K have a gun start and a chip-timed finish. Timing services are provided by Go! Sports Timing and Events. Finishers receive a medal. Overall top male and female in each race receive a $250 prize. Additional awards include overall 1st–3rd male and female and age-division awards for standard age groups (13 and under, 14–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+), based on gun time.
The event includes a Corporate Participation Challenge trophy for the organization with the highest number of combined 5K and 10K participants. A kids Fun Run is offered; Fun Run is free for children 12 and under (no t-shirt) or $10 with a shirt purchase. Registered participants by July 31, 2026 are guaranteed an event t-shirt and a goodie bag. Recovery refreshments such as breakfast items, fruit, and water are available at the finish.
Packet pickup is available the day before and on race day at the Mount Airy Municipal Building. Registration fees for the 10K are listed as $40 for early registration through July 12 and $45 for standard registration through August 15, 2026.
