Event overview
The PeaceHealth APPLETREE Marathon takes place on August 29-30, 2026 in Vancouver, Washington. The event includes in-person and virtual options:
- Marathon (Boston-qualifying)
- Half Marathon
- 5K Sunset Run
- Virtual Sunset 5K, Virtual Half Marathon, Virtual Marathon
There is a First Responder Relay division with teams sized from two to nine members and a limit on relay teams. The overall festival is capped at 3,000 athletes.
Course and logistics
The start/finish area is on Officers Row at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site (1101 Officers Row, Vancouver, WA). The one-loop course is described as flat and fast and passes Fort Vancouver, Officer’s Row, the Army Barracks, Pearson Airport, the Old Apple Tree, and the Columbia River. The course is spectator-friendly and has water stations and porta-potties roughly every mile. Chip timing, a finisher medal, and a technical runner’s t-shirt are provided. A BEAST medal is awarded to participants who race both event days.
Packet pickup is scheduled in the days before and on the event weekend at local locations. Parking options include Hudson’s Bay High School, Clark College Red Lots #1 and #2, and downtown street parking on weekends.
Rules, awards and beneficiaries
Bikes, skateboards, and rollerblades are not allowed on course. Only service dogs are permitted and must start at the end; strollers must also start at the end. Awards include Top 3 Overall male and female, master champions, and Top 3 age-group winners across categories from 9 and under through 80+. The primary beneficiary is the Police Activities League of Southwest Washington; $1 per registration supports Friends of Fort Vancouver.
