The PeaceHealth APPLETREE event spans two days in Vancouver, WA, and includes multiple race formats and a community festival atmosphere. It features a flat, fast, scenic one-loop course described as Boston qualifying, routed through Fort Vancouver, Officer’s Row, Army barracks, Pearson Airport (noted as the oldest operating airport in the USA), the Old Apple Tree area, and along the Columbia River with views of Mt. Hood.
Distances offered:
- Full Marathon (Boston qualifying)
- Half Marathon (same one-loop course)
- Sunset 5K
- First Responder Relay teams, two to nine members
The event emphasizes spectator-friendly routing, frequent water stations and entertainment approximately every mile, and porta-potties at each water/welfare station. Race services include chip timing, technical runner shirts, finisher medals, a post-event meal and festival, and a BEAST medal for athletes who race both days. The First Responder Relay honors public safety and medical teams and is limited in entries. The festival includes apple-themed food and free beer provided by a local brewery.
The event partners with Fort Vancouver National Historic Site and The Historic Trust. The Police Activities League is a primary beneficiary, and one dollar per registration is designated for Friends of Fort Vancouver. The festival is capped at 3000 athletes and provides multiple packet pickup opportunities prior to race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
