Appleman Triathlon
The Appleman Triathlon is a multi-discipline race held at Littleton Town Beach, Long Pond, Littleton, Massachusetts. Race options include a sprint triathlon, a duathlon, a sprint triathlon relay, and an aquabike.
- Sprint Triathlon: 0.5 mile swim, 10 mile bike, 3.0 mile run
- Duathlon: 1.5 mile run, 10 mile bike, 3.0 mile run
- Sprint Triathlon Relay: 0.5 mile swim, 10 mile bike, 3.0 mile run
- AquaBike: 0.5 mile swim, 10 mile bike
The swim is a 0.50 mile triangular course in placid Long Pond with a time trial start. Swim angels are available on a first come, first serve basis. The 10 mile bike is a single loop through Littleton that includes some hills. The run course mixes on- and off-road sections and finishes along the beach under the race timing arch.
The event is USAT sanctioned and results count toward national and regional rankings. It is also a Massachusetts state championship ranking point event for 2026. Race management is handled and timed by New England Timing. Packet pick up is available at Littleton Town Beach the day before and on race morning. Athlete parking is at Shaker Lane Elementary School. The race is held rain or shine; management may alter or cancel race portions for safety and does not offer refunds, though partial credit toward next year may be offered.
