Apple Triathlon - Event weekend information
The event weekend at Kelowna City Park includes a race expo and packet pickup the day before, mandatory bike check-in in transition, and race briefings for each format. On race day the transition area is open and races are held in waves across multiple distances.
The Kelowna Argus Apple Triathlon hosts the 2026 Triathlon Canada Age Group National Championships on August 9, 2026, for Sprint, Standard and Standard Aquabike distances. There are three qualifying spots per age category for Sprint, Standard (individual) and Standard Aquabike; eligible athletes must claim qualification through Triathlon Canada after the event. No prior qualification is required to race in the National Championships at the Argus Apple Triathlon.
Offered distances:
- Standard: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Sprint: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- BC Super Series Supersprint: 300 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Kids 12-15: 300 m swim, 10 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Kids 10-11: 200 m swim (close to shore), 5 km bike, 1 km run
- Kids 6-9: 100 m swim (can touch bottom), 2.5 km bike, 650 m run
Key policies: race entries are non-refundable; optional third-party refund protection is available. Transfers to another athlete and downgrades to a shorter distance are allowed until August 4, 2026 with a processing fee; no deferrals. The organizer may cancel or alter events for safety or authority directives. Course maps and layouts are subject to change. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
