Butterfly Run Kelowna
Butterfly Run Kelowna is an annual memorial walk/run. The 4th edition will take place on October 3, 2026 at City Park, Kelowna. The event focuses on raising awareness about infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss.
Registration opens on May 15. Volunteer opportunities are available to support event operations and logistics. A local committee organizes the event and coordinates volunteers and activities.
The event is part of the Butterfly Run initiatives held in other cities, including Vancouver, Nanaimo, and Whistler. The format centers on a memorial walk/run intended to provide a public space for remembrance and awareness rather than competition.
The organizer includes an acknowledgement of traditional territories, noting work and support on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including Musqueam, Stó:lō, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. It also notes that participants may join from many places and that people can learn about the traditional owners of the lands where they are located.
