Walpole Labor Day Road Race
The Walpole Labor Day Road Race is held at Walpole High School, 275 Common Street, Walpole, MA. The event includes in-person and virtual options and serves as the primary fundraiser for Walpole High School Cross Country and Track and Field programs, supporting more than 200 student-athletes across six seasons.
Distances offered:
- 10K (in-person and virtual)
- 5K run/walk (in-person and virtual)
- 1 mile youth fun run
Registration opens on May 1 and runs through early September. Entry fees vary by date and age category; fees listed include lower and higher rates around early September and reduced fees for youth and older adults. Participants who register by August 1 receive the official event T-shirt; all participants receive a finisher's medal.
Both the 10K and 5K in-person courses are USATF certified (certification numbers provided by the organizer). Award recognition for in-person events includes engraved placement medals for top finishers and team recognition displayed at the high school; 10K winners have trophies engraved and displayed locally.
Strollers are allowed in the 5K and should line up at the back of the starting area to reduce collision risk. For safety reasons, dogs are not permitted on the course during races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
