Annagh Hill (IMRA)
This is an Irish Mountain Running Association event at Annaghgap/Annagh Hill, Eircode Y25 VA43, on Saturday 11 April 2026. The long course is 10.70 km with a listed climb of 550 m. The event carries an IMRA difficulty rating of 8 for difficult terrain. A short course is available; juniors over 14 years may run the short course. Trail shoes with good grip are required and the long course is not recommended for beginners.
Course, safety and logistics
The route will be marked per IMRA guidelines, with only major junctions marked. On the return along the ridge the route follows an existing way-marked trail called the Yellow Belly Loop, which uses purple arrows. GPS use is allowed.
Mandatory kit is Level B - Standard and must be carried: waterproof jacket; hat or buff; gloves; whistle; charged mobile phone with emergency number stored; foil blanket, bivvy bag or equivalent. The Race Director will confirm the final required kit at registration based on conditions. Random kit checks may be carried out and failure to have required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification.
Entry is pre-registered only; no cash entries on the day. Replacement race numbers at registration incur a €5 charge payable by card. Parking is opposite the Gap Pub; parking along the road or at the forest entrance is not permitted. Prizegiving will be at the Gap Pub and food will be available after the race.
