Anime Fan and Fitness Festival - Gilroy, CA
The Anime Fan and Fitness Festival is the second annual festival presented by Initial Mile, held in Gilroy, California on September 19, 2026. The event combines running and walking events with festival activities that celebrate anime culture.

The 5K and 10K are conducted on an out and back loop on a paved trail; the 10K is 6.2 miles and the 5K is 3.1 miles. The Little Ninja Dash is a short 400 meter course on festival grounds that includes minimal obstacles; listed elements may change and include a balance beam walk, plyobox climb or walk over, hurdle hops, and an army crawl. Little Ninja waves are released in groups of three to five to limit crowding on obstacles.
Registration fees are listed as $55.00 for the 10K and $45.00 for the 5K; the Little Ninja Dash registration is free and must be completed by August 30 to receive a finisher award. Registrations provide official timing results, an official race bib, and a finisher wooden medal; a finisher t-shirt option was available for an additional fee. Portions of proceeds from 5K and 10K registrations will benefit the County of Santa Clara Animal Services.
Festival activity area called Victory Village includes vendor booths, local food, local performers, and a Fandom Anime Quest with an Initial Mile Warrior Badge reward. Cosplay is encouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
