Angry Owl Ultramarathons in Salem, Oregon
Angry Owl Ultramarathons is a timed running event held at Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon. The 2026 edition is the tenth running of the event and includes timed options of varying durations.
Distances and format:
- 24 hour timed run
- 12 hour timed run
- 6 hour timed run
The course is a new loop measuring 1.05 miles that combines hard packed dirt, well maintained non-technical trail, packed gravel, and some asphalt. Timed runners repeat the loop as many times as they can within their chosen duration. Chip timing will be provided by Race Northwest.
A single aid station near the start/finish area is stocked with water, electrolyte drink, fruit, salty snacks, sweet snacks, and additional items. Participants may leave personal food near the finish area and are asked to bring their own bottle or cup. The start/finish area sits beside a small parking lot so a vehicle will be accessible during the event. Camp chairs and coolers are permitted near the start/finish as long as they do not impede runners or other park users. Camping in the park on the Friday night before the event is not allowed.
Spectators are welcome to attend. Family and friends may join runners for a lap or two but are asked not to plan to run for the full duration.
Each participant will receive a cap. No medals will be issued. Local business prizes are planned for top finishers. Registration closes Friday, August 7. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
