Angry Owl Ultramarathons : Bush's Pasture Park, Salem, Oregon (August 8-9, 2026)
Angry Owl Ultramarathons is a weekend of timed running events held at Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon. The event marks its tenth year in 2026 and offers three timed race options: 24 hour, 12 hour, and 6 hour. Runners complete as many laps as they can on a roughly 1.05 mile loop that combines hard packed dirt, well maintained non-technical trail, packed gravel, and some asphalt.
Timing is chipped by professional timers. A single aid station near the start and finish provides water, electrolyte drink, fruits, salty and sweet snacks, and other items; participants may leave personal food near the finish for easy access. No cups will be provided, so runners are expected to use their own bottles or cups. The start and finish area is next to a small parking lot so vehicles remain accessible during the event. Participants may set up chairs and coolers near the start area but belongings are not monitored and the park does not permit camping the night before the race.
Spectators are welcome; family and friends may join runners for occasional laps but prolonged pacing is not permitted. Organizers supply a cap for each runner, there are no medals, and awards come in the form of local business goodies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
