Event Overview
The Angels on the Run 5K is an annual community wellness event hosted by St. Augustine Catholic School. Now in its fifth year, the event takes place in the Lyndwood neighborhood of Elkridge, Maryland. The course is designed for individuals who wish to run, walk, or stroll through the local area, utilizing the Lyndwood Executive Center as the primary venue for packet pickup and parking.
Course and Logistics
The race route passes through the streets of Lyndwood and includes a water station at the halfway point. Safety marshals and police are positioned along the course to direct participants and manage traffic. Strollers are permitted on the course. On-site parking is available in the north side of the Lyndwood Executive Center lot, while the south side remains closed during the event to ensure participant safety.
Participation Options
The event features several ways to participate:
- Angels on the Run 5K: An in-person 5K running and walking event.
- Athletes Serving Athletes 5K: A specific category for participants under the Athletes Serving Athletes banner.
- Virtual Run: A 3.1 mile remote option where participants complete the distance at their own location and submit their times by the end of the day.
Recognition and Amenities
The event uses chip-timing for the in-person races. Prizes are awarded across all age groups, and veterans receive a special token of appreciation. Registration includes the option to receive an event shirt, provided the registration is completed by the early November deadline. Participants can pick up their race packets at the school gymnasium on the day prior to the race or at the venue on the morning of the event.
