Drew's Angel Creek 50

Drew's Angel Creek 50 is a set of point-to-point trail races in Alaska's interior. The event features two distances: a 50 mile and a 50K race.

The courses traverse boreal forest and tundra within the Chena River State Recreation Area near Fairbanks. They are described as a roughly 50/50 mix of hard-packed trail and more technical sections, with much of the technical terrain on ridge lines.

The 50 mile course has approximately 12,600 feet of elevation gain and 12,000 feet of loss. The 50K course has approximately 6,400 feet of gain and 6,200 feet of loss.

The 50-mile race starts at Twin Bears Camp on Chena Hot Springs Road. The 50K race starts at the Angel Rocks Trailhead. Both races finish at Chena Hot Springs Resort. A post-race celebration includes a BBQ and an opportunity to soak at the hot springs.

The event is held on a Saturday in early August. It is organized by Running Club North. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
