Event Overview

The Andover Half Marathon and 12km are road races starting and finishing on Andover High Street. The event features a town-centre race village and routes that head south through quiet villages, offering panoramic views of three ancient Iron Age hill forts. Course Details

The races consist of mixed-terrain routes through the Hampshire countryside.

  • Half Marathon: A 13.1 mile distance with approximately 229 m of elevation gain. The course is approximately 84% paved roads.
  • 12km: This route is approximately 12.77 km long, consisting mostly of paved surfaces with about 10% firm dirt and approximately 100 m of elevation gain.

The half marathon course is way-marked and includes marshals and checkpoints. Aid stations for the half marathon are located at 4.7 miles and 9 miles, with additional support available on hot days. Participants in the 12km are required to carry their own hydration as there are no aid stations for this distance.

Logistics and Awards

The event provides a 3-hour and 30-minute cut-off time for the half marathon and 2 hours and 30 minutes for the 12km. Free parking is available on Sundays at local car parks including George Yard, Chantry Centre, Black Swan Yard, and Town Mills. All finishers receive a bespoke medal. Cash prizes are awarded to the first overall male and female finishers in the half marathon, along with podium and age category awards. No prizes are issued for the 12km category.
