About the race
The 13th Annual Ancient Trail Trek takes place in the Keystone Ancient Forest at 160 Ancient Forest Drive, Sand Springs, OK. The event is held on Feb 27, 2027 and starts and finishes at the trailhead visitors center.
Distances and pricing:
- 5K ($45) choose with or without a shirt
- 10K ($50) choose with or without a shirt
- 15K ($55) choose with or without a shirt
Packet pickup and registration are organized before and on race day. Packet pickup is scheduled for Feb 20 at RunnersWorld Tulsa, 3920 South Peoria, Tulsa, with on-site registration and packet pickup at the Keystone Ancient Forest visitors center on race day.
The courses run through a 1,360-acre nature preserve featuring old growth post oaks and cedars, with rock formations and views near Keystone Lake. The 15K route includes a lollipop loop and now shares the same finish route as the 10K and 5K; signage marks the course. There is no time limit and participants of all ages may take part.
The event is professionally timed by Nexus Timing using Jaguar Electronic RFID timing. Aid stations are provided along the courses and food is supplied after the race. Each finisher receives a custom medal. Awards are given overall and in 10-year age groups, with top male and female prizes per race: 15K $150, 10K $100, 5K $50.
