Americana 5k Run & Walk
The Americana 5k Run & Walk is hosted by the Centerville Noon Optimist Club and finishes at the Centerville High School Stadium on East Franklin Street. The chip timed course follows the parade route along Franklin Street to just past Magsig Middle School, where participants turn around and return to the high school. Results are available immediately at the race.
Registration for this year is online only. Early registration includes a reduced fee through June 15 and the registration fee includes a race shirt for the first 1,000 participants; later registrants pay a higher fee and shirts are provided while supplies last. Packet pick up is scheduled for July 2 and July 3 from mid afternoon at Up and Running, 6123 Far Hills Avenue near Dorothy Lane Market in Washington Square. Timing chips, bibs, and shirts (if available) can also be picked up at the stadium on race day beginning before the event.
Parking is available at the stadium behind the high school. Franklin Street closes before the event and access to the high school on Franklin Street will be restricted; the police have noted security changes that may cause delays. After the event no cars will be permitted to exit onto Franklin Street and all vehicles will be directed to exit at the rear parking lot onto Judson.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three in each age and gender division. Post race refreshments are provided by First Watch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
