American Legions/Veterans of Foreign Wars Run for Heroes 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community 5K run and walk taking place on October 17, 2026 at Baldwin Harbor Park, 3219 Grand Ave, Baldwin, NY 11510. The event is presented as an in-person race with on-site amenities and participant services.
Registration is offered in several categories with listed prices that include a processing fee: 5K Run/Walk ($38.98 early, $49.33 race day), College Student ($33.80), Veterans and First Responder ($28.63), and 17 and under ($23.45). Options include sponsorship-only or donation-only entries, team registration or team creation, and a personalized bib for those who register at least three weeks in advance.
Pre-registered in-person participants receive a commemorative t-shirt. Refreshments, water, and restrooms are available on site. Live-time results and same-day photos are provided by the event timing service, and an awards ceremony will follow the race.
Awards are given to the top male and female overall and to the top male and female in these age groups: 16 and under, 17-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus. Bib pickup is handled by event staff beginning one hour before the event; last-minute registrants within 24 hours receive their bib number by text.
