American Legions/Veterans of Foreign Wars Run for Heroes 5K Run/Walk
This event is a community 5K run/walk held on October 17, 2026 at Baldwin Harbor Park, 3219 Grand Ave, Baldwin, NY. The event proceeds will benefit local Veterans posts and the event runs rain or shine.
Registration categories and listed fees include general 5K entry ($38.98 early / $49.33 race day, processing fee included), college student ($33.80), veterans and first responders ($28.63), and youth 17 and under ($23.45). Registration options also include sponsorship-only and donation-only choices, and participants may join or create teams. Pre-registered in-person participants receive a commemorative t-shirt.
On-site amenities noted for the event include refreshments, water, restrooms, live results and same-day finish-line photos, and an awards ceremony immediately after the race. Awards are planned for top overall male and female finishers and top male and female in age groups including 16 and under, 17-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over.
Bib pickup is organized through event staff and options exist for personalized bibs when registering in advance.
