American Hero 25K Relay & Half Marathon : Comanche Park, Salado Creek Greenway
The event day includes multiple running and rucking categories held at Comanche Park and the Salado Creek Greenway in San Antonio, Texas. The inaugural American Hero Half Marathon is four loops of a 3.27 mile course, totaling 13.1 miles, run on Salado Creek Greenway trails.
Other on-site competitions include a 25K relay for teams, a 5K race, a wheelchair 5K division, a 10K Ruck for participants 18 and over, and a kids fun run. The 25K relay requires five person teams to register together, with team changes allowed at packet pick up and early registration incentives for the first 20 teams. The wheelchair division may use a separate route for safety depending on event size.
The 10K Ruck covers 6.2 miles, is not timed, carries a 50 pound load, and has a four hour completion limit. Ruck participants have their bibs printed with a name and will have a medic station near the finish area to check health between each 5K segment. Prizes or prize money are planned for some winning teams and top ruck finishers; details may vary by category.
