The Ambles Revenge is scheduled for 28 December 2025 in Oxspring, Sheffield. The event is a single-lap race of 8 miles with an advertised ascent of over 1,200 ft. Entry fees are listed as £14.00 (affiliated) and £16.00 (unaffiliated); on-the-day entry may be available for an additional £2.00 if the event does not sell out. The field is limited to 350 entries and the race holds Trail Runners Association licence 7723. The race headquarters is at the Waggon & Horses, Sheffield Road, Oxspring. The course is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Course and facilities
The route runs clockwise from the Trans Pennine Trail at Oxspring and covers a mix of cross country, road and fell terrain. It passes over farmers' fields, quiet country lanes, through woodland and over many stiles toward Green Moor before returning to Oxspring. The profile is undulating and has sections that are often wet and muddy; one report notes windy conditions on higher ground in 2023. The course is described as well marked with marshals on the route.
Facilities at race HQ include toilets. There are no water stations, no distance markers, no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. Prizes are awarded across multiple age categories for men and women. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
