Ambles Revenge
Ambles Revenge is scheduled for Monday 28 December 2026 in Oxspring, Sheffield. The event is an 8 mile multi terrain race that combines cross country, road and fell sections and runs in a clockwise direction starting on the Trans Pennine Trail at Oxspring.
The course covers around 8 miles with over 1,200 ft of elevation. It passes over farmers' fields, quiet country lanes, through woodland and over many stiles, heading toward Green Moor and returning to Oxspring. The route is undulating and includes wet and muddy sections in typical weather conditions. The course is waymarked and marshals are present along the route. In 2023 there were strong winds on the higher parts and participants received a beanie hat as a race gift.
Event details include a single lap course, a race licence with the Trail Runners Association, and an entry limit of 350 places. Entry fees are listed as £14 for affiliated runners and £16 for unaffiliated runners, with a possible additional charge for day entries if available. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs.
