The Sap Run Scramble - Embark Maple Energy
The Sap Run Scramble on March 20, 2027 takes place at Embark Maple Farm in Cashton, WI. The event uses a rugged 5K route through maple woods during syrup season. The route crosses old logging roads, dry washes and deer paths, and is often off-trail; it requires attention to terrain and course markers.
Two formats share the same course. The Foodie 5K Scramble is a snacking tour with maple-based snack and drink stops spaced through the woods and a relaxed completion window for participants. The Last Person Standing format asks racers to complete the same 5K lap within one hour and then repeat that lap each hour until only one person completes every lap in the allotted time; each lap includes roughly 1000 feet of elevation change.
Ramp Camp serves as the finish area with wood-fired pizzas, beverages and music. Snack stops are located on the course, and an aid station is available at Ramp Camp. Participants are advised to wear sturdy shoes, bring a water bottle and expect mud; LPS participants are advised to carry a headlamp because there is no lighting on the course. Primitive camping, portable toilet facilities and on-site purchases are available. Pets on leash are permitted in the woods and on the farm but must be kept out of food processing areas.
Participants are expected to be respectful on course; faster racers should safely pass snackers and helpers who assist injured runners will not be penalized. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
