Alzheimer's Charity Race

The Albemarle Rotary Club presents the 5th Annual Race to Remember, a fundraising event held in Albemarle, North Carolina. This event focuses on supporting Alzheimer’s and dementia research by donating proceeds to the nonprofit organization C.A.R.T. (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust). The courses start and finish at the field adjacent to the YMCA Pavilion.

Participants can choose from several event formats:

  • 5k Run Walk (3.1 miles)
  • 1 Mile Fun Walk/Run (1 mile)
  • Virtual Run/Walk 5k (3.1 miles)

The scenic route leads through historic downtown Albemarle and nearby residential neighborhoods. For the competitive events, awards are provided for the top three finishers in various age groups, ranging from children under 14 to adults aged 60 and over.

Parking is available at designated locations including Y Park, Hartsell Funeral Home on North Second Street, and the parking lot across from the pavilion. Participants who register by June 5th are eligible for an event shirt on race day, while late registrants can collect shirts from a local pickup location or opt for mailing. Race packets are available for collection at Uwharrie Dash prior to the event or on the morning of the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
