Race to Remember - Alzheimer's Charity Race 5k and 1 Mile Walk
The Albemarle Rotary Club presents the 5th Annual Race to Remember, a community event in Albemarle, North Carolina that raises funds for Alzheimer’s and dementia research through the nonprofit C.A.R.T. (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust). The event offers in-person and virtual options with the following distances:
- 5k Run Walk: 3.1 miles
- 1 Mile Fun Walk/Run: 1 mile
- Virtual Run/Walk 5k with shirt and mailing: 3.1 miles
Registration opens on June 6, 2025 and closes on June 12, 2026. In-person event registration fee is listed as $30.00 and the virtual option is listed as $35.00. Participants who register by June 5 will receive a race shirt on race day; late registrants can pick up shirts at The Independent Bistro or have shirts mailed for an additional $10.
The course is described as passing through historic downtown Albemarle and surrounding neighborhoods. Packet pickup is available Friday, June 12 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Independent Bistro Restaurant, 251 W. Main Street, Albemarle, NC 28001. Parking is noted near Y Park, Hartsell Funeral Home at 522 N. Second St., and the lot across from the pavilion. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each listed age group.
