Trail Running in Northumberland

The Alnwick Castle Trail Runs take place in the historical town of Alnwick, Northumberland. The event features two distinct distances for participants aged 15 and over:

  • 10 km
  • Half Marathon

Both routes start and finish by the River Aln, directly beside Alnwick Castle. The courses lead runners through Hulne Park, passing the Priory and moving through various sections of the castle grounds. The location is known for its architectural landmarks, which have served as filming sites for high profile television and film productions.

Event Services and Logistics

Participants receive live chip timing provided by Timing Up North. Every finisher is presented with an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink at the conclusion of the run. While the registration fee covers these items, an exclusive event t-shirt is available as an optional purchase during the sign-up process.

Free on-site parking is provided for all participants at the venue at The Peth. It is important to note that this event does not permit Canicross entries due to specific restrictions at the site.

Charitable Support

The event serves as a fundraiser for NE Youth, a youth development charity in the North East. For every participant entry, a contribution of £4 is donated to the organization to support their community services and youth programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
