Event Information
The Enchanted Ultra 50K is an ultra-marathon event scheduled for Saturday, 19 September 2026. The event starts and finishes in Wooler and follows a route through the Cheviot hills. Participants must navigate using a GPS device and a provided digital route. The event has an 11-hour time limit to complete the course.
The Route
The route begins at The Mart in Wooler. It passes Humbleton Hill, joins the St Cuthberts Way, and continues past the ancient hillfort of Yeavering Bell. The first checkpoint is at Hethpool (approximately 10 miles). The route then follows the College Valley to Mounthooley and passes close to Hen Hole, a location noted in local legend, during the ascent of Cheviot. The descent is via Harthope Burn, leading to the second checkpoint at Langleeford (approximately 22 miles). The final section returns to Wooler via Coldlaw, Snear Hill, and Earl.
Event Details
The entry fee includes a digital route map, a waterproof map, a GPS tracker, marshals around the course, medical cover, and two fully stocked aid stations. Soup, sandwiches, a finisher’s medal, and a certificate are provided at the finish. Registration is from 6:00 AM, and the race start is at 8:00 AM. There is ample parking.
